Dr. Asako Takanohashi joined the Vanderver Laboratory over a decade ago when it was still based at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington D.C. As the group's current Research Laboratory Director, Dr. Takanohashi oversees all components and staff within its basic science program, including the central research biorepository and various disease-specific projects.

Dr. Takanohashi previously worked in the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), an arm of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the Tokyo University as well as a DVM from Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University in Tokyo, Japan.
