The aim of the Vanderver Laboratory is to develop therapeutic strategies for H-ABC leukodystrophy. A postdoctoral researcher by profession, Dr. Sase has been working on understanding H-ABC leukodystrophy and developing and testing different treatment modalities for H-ABC disease at the preclinical level.

Dr. Sase completed her PhD in Neuroscience at Medical University of Vienna, Austria and joined the Vanderver lab in June 2017 and has characterized and established the mouse model for H-ABC disease.

 

This H-ABC mouse model which was recently published in elife (2020), provides a good platform to develop the therapeutic strategy for H-ABC leukodystrophy. She is currently working on exploring the antisense treatment on the H-ABC mouse model.
